Rock Band 2 for the PS3, PS2, and Wii Is Almost Here

EA has announced the release dates for "Rock Band 2" for the PS3, PS2, and Wii. All three versions of the game will launch over the next two months. The Ps3 and PS2 versions of the game will hit in March with the Wii version coming in April.

The software will retail for around £49.99 on PS3, £39.99 on the Wii, and £29.99 on the PS2. There will also be an instrument bundle available, which includes a copy of the game for £119 on PS3 and £109 for the PS2 and Wii version. The franchise has been a big commercial and critical success for EA with sales of 10 million units in 2008, 2 million of which were for Rock Band 2. This still lags behind rock rivals RedOctane, who's Guitar Hero World Tour, sold 3.4 million copies in 2008.

Gamers in America have been happily playing Rock Band 2 for months now, but fans in the UK have been unable to get the game.

The Rock Band 2 soundtrack will feature over 100 songs with over 80 songs on disc plus an additional 20 bonus tracks which will be made available for free download this fall. This builds upon the unparalleled depth and diversity of Rock Band's original set list and its ever-expanding library of downloadable tracks.
