Student gets support from 'friends'

GUNTUR: The Narsaraopet-based Friends To Support Organisation, which runs the www.friends2support.org website to provide contact details of voluntary blood donors all over the country, has begun supporting meritorious poor students at High School and Intermediate level.

The F2S founder Sk.K. Shareef has said that the Friends2support with the help of a volunteer, Movva Siva Chakravarthy (in memory of his father M. Sankara Rao), supported a student in her Intermediate studies.

The girl, Hemalatha Sri, who passed 10th class from SKRBR School, Narsaraopet, got 515 marks in the examination.

The organisation decided to support one meritorious poor student from the school from where the founder of F2S had completed the studies.

The volunteer's mother Nalini Jayanthi paid the first year fee of Rs.10,000 at the Sarada College by handing over the amount at a small function on the school premises to college principal O. Nageswara Rao.
Second year also

The student would be supported in the second year also and in addition to this another four students are being supported at the High School level, according to Mr. Shareef.

The students will be selected by the school teachers depending on their poverty/need clubbed with merit, according to him.
