Given the backdrop of the Global Financial meltdown and India's projected role as one of the beacons to lead the recovery, different

organizations have adopted different strategies to make sure they survive and contribute effectively in the coming times.

N.K. Maini, Executive Director, SIDBI, has a different doctrine to propagate. "The Entrepreneur is the need of the hour. Various crises of startups are avoidable. Identifying the right opportunity is the most important. Students with good ideas must skip placements & become entrepreneurs," he said.

Maini was addressing MBA students at a function organized by FORE school of Management, a city-based business school that has set up a dedicated Centre for Entrepreneurship Development to create Entrepreneurs rather than the usual 9 to 5 Managers.

Organisations like The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Delhi, the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and Wadhwani foundation have come forward to support this initiative.

Mr. R. C. Sharma, president, FORE School of Management said, "It is important for students to utilize all the resources available to them. I urge young students to come up with their own ventures and will ensure that the Institute would provide them complete support. It is the institute's dream to create job givers and not job seekers."

During the following session successful entrepreneurs and Venture Capitalists were invited to share their success mantras along with the charms & challenges of Entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship development is perticularly important in times of amn economic crisis, when the economy needs jobcreators rather than job seekers.
