CAT exam cancelled in 9 cities as server crashed

Servers of the Common Admission Test (CAT) exam were reported crashed at the 11 centers located in 9 cities. Indian Institute of Management which is organising the onlineCAT exam for the first time has cancelled the exam. The new date has not been announced till the report was filed.

The servers crashed in Chennai, Bangalore, Bhopal and Lucknow. As a result of this, many students were unable to take the test. The CAT has traditionally been a paper-pencil test, which required about three-and-half hours to administer. From now on, it will be a computerised test spread over 10 days.

As students prepared to take the online Common Admission Test, some of them were not quite convinced about the new format of the examination. "We will face severe difficulties in going through the tables, the mathematics portion and even going through the charts on the question paper in cyber space.
