Audi Rolls Out Q7 SUV In India

Audi, the premium car manufacturer, announced on Thursday that it will be rolling out its latest SUV, Audi Q7, in India, which comes in three engine variants.

Consumers can choose the three variants from a range of colours. These three variants of Audi Q7 comes is available at a price of Rs.55.2 lakh, Rs.53.4 lakh and Rs.29.9 lakh in Maharashtra showrooms.

"Audi India achieved remarkable growth in the first eight months of 2009 by selling 1,128 cars (62 percent growth). With the launch of new Audi Q7, we expect to sell upwards of 1,500 cars," said Audi India managing director Benoit Tiers.

"If I can get good production (of cars) from Germany, then we should be able to sell about 1,700-1,800 cars this year," he added. There are plans for increasing the number of dealers to 18 by 2010-2011. Audi currently has 12 dealers in India.

Audi currently has dealerships in Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Kochi. "We plan to expand to Jaipur, Lucknow, Nagpur and Coimbatore soon," Tiers said.

Audi Q7 is equipped with features like voice control. This is an option which helps the driver to use his cell phone or music system, by calling out a number in the phone or the name of song.
The adaptable headlights switch on or off based on the movement of the car. With up to seven seats, the Audi Q7 boasts of luggage space of about 2,035 litres.
