Hiroshima-Nagasaki day observed in school

iruvannamalai: Hiroshima-Nagasaki day was observed in Aarppakkam Government High School, near here on Sunday, by planting trees, singing songs and delivering speeches urging students to despise war mongering. Cuckoo Children Wisdom Movement organised the event in association with Junior Red Cross (JRC) unit of the school. Documentary movie director Nehru urged the students to contribute to building a world without the threat of atomic war. Sivaraj, convener of Cuckoo, insisted on the need to be vigilant to keep passion for war at bay. JRC district Joint Convener A. Narayanan, organised the students for tree plantation and drafted schemes for their continued maintenance. Theatre activist Samuel taught students songs accentuating peaceful, war free world.
