Anastasia Malhotra Enters ITF Second Round

Japan's Anastasia Malhotra made it to the second round of the $10,000 women's International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament .She had a 6-2, 6-3 win over Indian wildcard Nova Patel at the DLTA complex in Delhi on  Monday.

Anastasia, who was in the semi-final of the last ITF in June, will challenge the winner of the match between Indian Sweta Kumari Solankui and Slovak Dalila Jakupvic.

Rashmi Teltumbde beat wildcard Gopika Kapoor 6-2, 6-2 in the first round.She will next play against the winner of the match between seventh-seeded Uzbek Alexandra Kolesnichenko and French Elodie Rogge-Dietrich.

Treta Bhattacharya of India had a fighting win over Jasmin Steinherr of Germany. She will next take on the winner of the match between sixth-seeded Parija Maloo and Prerna Bhambri.

Indian wildcard Adnya Naik beat compatriot Anushree Thammanna by 6-1, 6-3. Naik is next likely to challenge top seed Emily Webley Smith of Britain .Emily will play against Abhilasha Ahuja of India in her first round of match on Tuesday.
