HYDERABAD: Slow connectivity and confusion continued to test the patience of engineering aspirants on Saturday too at all the centres.

Students who came to the helpline centres in the city complained that there was hardly any improvement in the connectivity despite assurances given by the officials.

The mode of web counselling and confusion on choosing the colleges and courses continued to bother them. The hall earmarked for explaining the web options process through video mode was filled to the brim but there were hardly any happy faces.

No comfort factor
Officials who clarified their doubts personally after the video sessions said the major complaint was the lack of comfort factor while choosing the options though the new method gave them enough time to think and choose.

Many students and parents found it difficult to pick up colleges and courses of their choice given the huge availability. "The earlier process helped us in understanding which seats are filled and which were available. Our options were though limited earlier, we could comfortably choose depending on various parameters. But now despite large number of options there is more confusion," said Venkataprasad, who accompanied his nephew.

More seats
Meanwhile, the number of seats increased with more colleges getting permission. After addition of new colleges, the number of seats available in Single Window-1 (Convener's quota) rose to 1,99,265. In single window-II (Muslim minority) 5,865 seats are available in 16 colleges while 7,830 seats are there in 17 colleges in single window-III (Christian Minority). About 4,200 seats in 13 colleges are kept pending as they are yet to choose the window for admissions.
