IGIAT opens extension centre

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indo-German Institute of Advanced Technology has set up its first extension centre at Vignan Institute of Information Technology as part of its outreach programme through extension centres in engineering institutions.

An MoU in this regard was signed between IGIAT Director P.K. Shrivastava and VIIT Principal R. Lakshmipathi on Friday.

The objective of the programme is to provide students and faculty of partnering engineering colleges having competence in advanced technology like Embedded Systems, VLSI, CISCO Networking, CAD/CAM, GIS, GPS, Total Station and .net.

These courses are available in the colleges' respective campuses, through pre-designed and tested training courses of IGIAT and support students on a continual basis in order to make them industry relevant, according to Mr. Shrivastava.

The training will be delivered on-site through mobile kits.

The latest software by IGIAT experts in coordination with the partner college faculties will be provided.

IGIAT has plans to open more extension centres in many more engineering colleges for creating a significant impact on the quality of technical education.
