TANCET to be held on May 30 and 31

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET)-2009 for admission to MBA, MCA, M.Tech., M.E., M. Arch. and M. Plan. degree programmes will be conducted by Anna University on May 30 and 31 at various centres here.

The nine centres where the entrance test would be conducted are: Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Sourashtra College, Thanapandian Polytechnic College, K. L. N. College of Engineering, K. L. N. College of Information Technology, P. T. R. College of Engineering and Technology, Tamil Nadu Polytechnic College and Government Polytechnic College for Women.

While the entrance test for MBA and MCA courses will be held on May 30, the entrance test for M.E., M. Tech., M. Arch. and M. Plan. courses would be held on May 31.

An enquiry office will function at the Thiagarajar College of Engineering here on May 29 for the benefit of students. A press release on Wednesday said that the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has been requested to ply sufficient number of special buses from the central points of the city to the examination centres.

The P. T. R. College of Engineering and Technology will operate free bus services for the convenience of students appearing for TANCET from various destinations to Austinpatti on May 30. Buses will operated from Mattuthavani at 7.45 a.m. (K. Pudur, Bibikulam, Tamukkam, Goripalayam, Simmakkal, Periyar Bus Stand, Madura College and Palanganatham); Teppakulam at 8 a.m. (East Gate, South Gate, Crime Branch, Madura College and Palanganatham); Periyar Bus Stand at 8 a.m. (Madura College, Andalpuram, Palanganatham and Pykara); Arapalayam at 8 a.m. (AA Road, Arasaradi, Kalavasal, Palanganatham and Pykara) and from Tirumangalam at 8.30 a.m. (Maravankulam, Kappalur and Kothiyarkundu). Candidates and their parents can utilise the free service.

According to a press release, the college will also operate free services from Koothiyarkundu Vilakku on the national highway to Austinpatti. City bus services – 48, 48 A, 48 B, A 48, 48 P, 49 and 52 – will pass through P. T. R. College of Engineering and Technology.
