Bharti Airtel Introduces Two DTH Entry Packs


Bharti Airtel on Monday (May 11) introduced two entry packages for its direct-to-home (DTH) service, Digital TV. Both the packages offer a three-month free subscription to various bouquets of channels and interactive services. Of the two packages, the one that is priced at Rs 1,850 will provide three months free subscription for ESPN sports channel including a value pack of 77 channels and five interactive services. The offering of premier sports channel like ESPN is made to rope in more subscribers during the next month's ICC World T20 Cricket Championship.

The other package of Rs 2000 will offer 121 channels and nine interactive services. This package is aimed at Airtel's pre-paid mobile customers in the four states of Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Along with free subscription of 121 cannels and interactive services, the customers will provided with 1750 minutes of free mobile call from Airtel to Airtel for 90 days from the date of purchase. According to Bharti Telemedia director and CEO – DTH services, Ajai Puri, the company has introduced the two DTH packages by keeping in mind the needs of the two segments of customers.

While Rs 2000 pack is for Airtel's pre-paid mobile customers, Rs 1850 pack will cater to the demand of the cricket fanatic customers during the T20 World Cup, said Ajai Puri. Currently, Airtel Digital TV offers four packs that come with different DTH and interactive services. Airtel Digital TV's Rs 2500 pack offers three months' free subscription of 140 channels and 10 interactive services while premium pack of Rs 3,500 offers a six-month free subscription of 140 channels and 10 interactive services.
