After the popular Brian Lara Cricket Series, Ashes Cricket 2009 would be yet another cricket game but with focused teams. Transmission Games, who developed Brian Lara 2007: Pressure Play for PSP will be developing AC 2009.  Of course players can also choose cricketers from unlicensed cricket teams; basically all test playing nations.

This cricket game will feature games modes - Ashes tournament, test matches, one-day matches and Twenty20 (20:20) matches. Along with the contemporary form of cricket, users will also get to use the Hawkeye feature and the Classic Moments mode with the ability to replay historical scenes with current players.

In the gameplay, one can choose different bowling styles along with the colored gauge for noting the strength. Many changes made in Cricket 2009 have been implemented in AC2009 but not much has been said about batting skills.

As far as graphics is concerned, the entire engine has been build up from the ground by Transmission games for exploiting the potential of Xbox 360 and PS3. To add more spice to the cricket flavor, AC2009 will also feature legendary commentators like Tony Greig, Ian Bishop, Ian Botham, Jonathan Agnew and Shane Warne.
