SKU extends date for sale of applications

ANANTAPUR: Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) has extended the date for sale of applications for the joint eligibility common entrance test for admission into SKU and the newly-formed Rayalaseema University, Kurnool, in view of the demand.

Vice-Chancellor of SKU P. Kusuma Kumari stated here on Monday that the last date for sale of applications for SKU &RU CET-2009 was extended to May 7 and that of receipt of filled-in applications from May 11 to May 14. About 10,100 applications were sold till May 2.

The schedule of the entrance tests was also changed in view of the DSC test to be held in May for recruitment of teachers. Initially, the entrance test was scheduled to commence from May 29 but it would now begin from June 4 and would conclude on June 13.

Rector K. Nageswara Rao and Director of Admissions V. Rangaswamy were present.

Meanwhile, it appears that students are showing interest for traditional PG courses after decline in opportunities in I-T, management and engineering. The sale of applications is likely to cross 15,000 this year whereas only 11,000 applications were sold last year.
