Child Resource Centre inaugurated

KRISHNAGIRI: A Child Resource Centre was inaugurated at K. Poosaripatti, near Krishnagiri, on Saturday.

Stephen Raj Jayakumar, vice-chairman, Kingsley Community Centre, inaugurated the centre.

He said the centre had library, sports articles and laboratories. It would also conduct computer courses and tailoring classes. It had facilities for club activities for the overall personality development of the rural children.

Mr. Jayakumar said that four such centres were opened in four panchayats in 2004 with the participation of the local people.

These centres, being operated from buildings given by the panchayats, had inbuilt information system regarding the day-to-day operations.

The centres were set up under the auspices of CCF-India with the association of Kingsley Community Centre, Mr. Jayakumar added.
