Anna University to chuck out one college soon

Anna University, Chennai, will soon disaffiliate one college and select departments from three other engineering colleges, if it gets the Higher Education Department's nod. Apart from the four, another college will be given a show-cause notice for alleged faculty impersonation.

According to sources in the Syndicate, GGR College of Engineering, Vellore, VKK Vijayan Engineering College, Sriperambudur, Sri Ram Engineering College, Vepampattu, and Gojan School of Business and Technology, Alamathi village, were earlier served notices by the university.

Sources also said that apart from these colleges, there were quite a few others that were issued notices after inspection by a university team found that they either lacked physical infrastructure or had insufficient faculty members.
