Bangalore students aim to fly high in Atlanta, U.S

BANGALORE: Students of the Sri Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College of Engineering (SBJMCE) are all set to participate in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aero Design (East) being held at Atlanta in the United States from April 2 to April 5. The team from SBJMCE will be the only one from India to participate in the Micro Class of the competition.

Comprising Prajwal S., Narayan Prasad N., Sreekumar C.R., and Nikhil B.N., from the BE Final Year batch, the team will be accompanied by faculty members K. Venkatesh, C.B. Mohan and Nitin T.P.

Dr. Venkatesh says, "The micro class segment is the most challenging event and very few teams have been able to compete successfully in it."

He adds that the micro class aircraft is the "ultimate technical challenge" that the organisations worldwide are trying to perfect.

"Incidentally SBMJCE's is also one of the youngest teams taking part in the event," he says. The team is being sponsored by the Jain Group of Institutions with additional support from organisations such as TUV Rhineland, Step Electronics, D.C. Enterprises, Microgenesis CAD Soft, Icon Design, Bigtec and Drone Aerospace.
