TCS sees client spending under stress

MUMBAI: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, India's top software exporter, has seen discretionary spending by clients under stress, a top executive said on Monday.

"Discretionary spending has been under stress. We expect more clarity by the end of the first quarter," Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director N Chandrasekaran told reporters on the sidelines of a conference.

He said the company would continue to focus on developing markets, including India, which contributed about $1 billion to Tata Consultancy's revenues.
