Now you can prepare for IIT-JEE, CET on your mobile

BASE, the Bangalore-based educational training organisation providing training for IIT-JEE, AIEEE, AIPMT, CET and COMEDK, has announced that it will be the strategic content partner for an interactive and integrated mobile learning and assessment tool mPlg. mPlg, the mobile phone based testing platform created by Ipomo Communications India delivers and renders question papers of various competitive exams. The content provision will start off with IIT-JEE-09 and CET- 09.

"This partnership will provide students opting for mPlg the opportunity to benefit from the expertise BASE has in training students to face national level competitive examinations for nearly two decades," said H S Nagaraja, director and founder of BASE.

"Students subscribing to mPlg will have access to exhaustive course material compiled by BASE. This learning tool will help students fine-tune their skills and prepare better for competitive exams in state and national levels," said Vallish N Herur, director, BASE.

The testing system allows students to access the best question papers from the best institutes at one place along with allowing students to practise or mock anytime, anywhere. Students can also network with the expert groups and get guidance on areas of improvement.

Inbuilt algorithms of mPlg allow institutions to efficiently track their students' progress. It also facilitates paper-less internal assessments and real time results will be delivered to the Institute server. With no requirement for smart phones or GPRS connection, mPlg is designed to make the mobile phone a computing device. mPlg works on any device which has a simple PC connectivity (low-end devices). Through the platform, institutions can reach a large number of rural/semi-urban students with no major additional investment.

"Efficient and secured inbuilt encryption algorithms prevent unauthorised viewing of content. A student can access only to his/her registered course/subjects. We have conducted pilot-runs in few colleges and institutes in Bangalore in the past 2 months. The pilot run was conducted in order to test the feasibility of mPlg and the feasibility of automating the process of uploading the results for better tracking and analysis by institutes" said Hari Prakash Shanbhog, founder and managing director, Ipomo Communications India.

A total of 500 plus students were covered in the pilot run. All students found the tool very relevant. 90 per cent of the students polled said usage was very easy and clarity has been rated at 85 per cent.
