New scheme for private candidates

MADURAI: Private candidates, who have not submitted their applications in time, have been given a chance to apply for Matriculation and Anglo-Indian public examinations through a 'tatkal' scheme.

According to a press release from M. Palanisamy, Regional Joint Director of Government Examinations, private candidates can apply for the examinations between March 5 and 12 by paying Rs. 500 as fee. They have to pay Rs. 100 per paper for Matriculation examinations, along with Rs. 35, and Rs. 50 for each paper of Anglo-Indian examinations, along with Rs. 35, in the form of demand draft from a nationalised bank, drawn in favour of Director of Government Examinations, Chennai 600 006.

Applications should be submitted in person on or before March 12 at the office of the Director of Public Examinations. The application and hall ticket should be attested by the headmaster of the school attended by the candidate. Applications will be processed and hall tickets issued on the same day.

Applications can be had from the office of Regional Joint Director of Government Examinations, 4 Hakim Ajmal Khan Road, Chinna Chokkikulam, Madurai 625 002.

Candidates of Madurai region will be allowed to write the examinations in Madurai city only.
