Calicut University

Engineering results: The results of the second semester M.Tech. Mechanical Engineering, second semester M.Tech Electrical Engineering, second semester M. Tech. Civil Engineering and second semester M.Tech. Chemical Engineering examinations held in August have been published. The results have been posted on the university website.

Biochemistry teachers' interview: The walk-in interview for the post of teachers of biochemistry on contract basis at the Androth Centre at Lakshadweep will be held at 9.30 a.m. at the administrative office here on February 25.

Candidates having 55 per cent marks in post graduate examination. Preference will be given to those who have passed the national eligibility test and obtained a doctorate.

MBBS examination: The last date to submit applications for final MBBS part I additional examination and first year MBBS additional examination without fine is February 15 and with a fine of Rs.100, February 19.

The final examination will begin on March 3 and first year examination on March 4.

M.Sc Statistics Viva Voce: The viva voce of M.Sc Statistics will be held at Farook College, Thrissur St. Thomas College and Palakkad Government Victoria College on February 11, 12 and 13.

MG University

Workshop: Mahatma Gandhi University will conduct a one-day workshop on Capacity Building and Enhancement Initiatives on Research Projects on Thursday. The workshop is aimed at enhancing capacity building in formulation, submission and execution of research projects to and from potential national and international agencies. It will provide an opportunity to familiarise with all aspects of research projects. It will be open to all university teachers; researchers from statutory teaching and research departments; and 50 teachers from affiliated colleges. LLB exams: The seventh semester LLB (five year) and the third semester LLB (three year) examinations, which have been rescheduled, will be held from May 19.

Examinations: The first semester B.Li.Sc. examinations will commence on April 29. Last date for submitting application forms is April 3. Fourth semester M.Sc. clinical nutrition and dietetics degree examinations will commence on April 24. April 3 is the last date for submitting applications.

Viva Voce: Viva Voce for the second semester M.Ed. degree examinations held during February 2009 will commence on April 27. Contact respective examination centres for further details.

Examinations: M.Sc. psychology (second semester) examinations will commence on April 8. Dissertations and practical records for M.Sc. and M.Phil. programmes should be submitted before April 22.

B.A. examination centres: Private candidates with register numbers 926254 to 926532 who have opted for Government College, Attingal, as the centre for the first-year B.A. examinations should collect their hall tickets from the college and appear for the examinations at A.J. College of Science and Technology. Students with register numbers 900294, 900336 to 900424 and 900452 to 900503 who have opted for Government Arts College should write their examinations at NSS College, Niramonkara, and those with register numbers 900604 to 900687, 900709 to 900739, 900764 to 900792, 900937 to 900987 and 901018 to 901032, should write their examinations at Government College for Women. The hall ticket can be had from the Government Arts College.

Students with register numbers 918589 to 918695, 818384 to 818838 who have opted for MSM College, Kayamkulam, should collect their hall tickets from the college and take the examination at Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara.

M.D. Ayurveda: Applications for the final M.D. Ayurveda examinations scheduled to begin on May 5 can be submitted without fine till April 6, with fine of Rs.50 till April 8 and with fine of Rs.250 till April 20.

M.Phil. Commerce: The first semester M.Phil. Commerce examination will begin at 10 a.m. on April 28 and 30.

LLM results: The results of the first semester LLM examinations held in October 2008 have been declared.

M.Sc. Nursing: The results of the third semester M.Sc. Nursing examinations held in December 2008 have been published. Applications for scrutiny of answer sheets can be submitted till April 17.

M.Com. assignment: The assignment for the first year M.Com. (2008-10 batch) programme at the Institute of Distance Education should be submitted before April 30.

MSW results: The results of the first and second-year MSW (evening course ) held in July/August 2008 have been published. Applications for scrutiny of the answer sheets have to be submitted before April 25.

PGDBT: The results of the Postgraduate Diploma in Beauty Therapy examinations held in January 2009 have been published. The first rank goes to R. Aneeja.

BDS results: The results of the second BDS examinations held in November 2008 have been published. Applications for revaluation can be submitted till May 5.

M.Sc. mathematics results: The results of the M.Sc. mathematics final regular, improvement/supplementary examinations held in April 2008 and M.Sc. mathematics previous regular, improvement/supplementary examinations held in May 2008 will be published on April 15.

Syndicate meeting: A meeting of the university Syndicate will be held at the conference hall on the campus from 10.30 a.m. on April 28.

All the standing committees of the Syndicate will meet on April 25.

University of Kerala

Research fellowship: Applications have been invited from full-time research scholars for the senior research fellowship and post-doctoral fellowship for 2009-10. The first one is Rs.4,600 a month and the second, Rs.5,000. The application form and details can be had from the Academic E 1 section of the university. Applications for the senior research fellowship should be recommended by the supervising teacher and those for the post-doctoral fellowship by the departmental doctoral committee. Applications should reach the office of the Registrar before June 30. Those seeking post-doctoral fellowships should select the respective university department as their research centre.

MBA entrance examination: The entrance examination for admission to the MBA programme in the Institute of Management in Kerala will begin at 9.30 a.m. on May 2. The Government Arts College, the Government Training College and the Model High School in Thiruvananthapuram; SD College, Alappuzha; and Vimala College, Thrissur, will be the examination centres. Answers should be marked on OMR sheets using a black-ink ballpoint pen. Those who have not received their hall tickets should contact the institute's office.

Refresher course: Applications have been invited from newly appointed teachers in colleges and universities for an orientation programme scheduled at the Academic Staff College from May 23 to June 19.

The application form and details can be had from the college or from its web site, www.ugcasc.keralauniversity.edu. The last date for submitting applications is May 10.

MG University

Admissions: Mahatma Gandhi University has revised its earlier notification dated May 11, regarding admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by affiliated colleges.

As per the revised schedule, the last date for submitting applications is June 11. Rank lists will be published on June 15. Interviews will commence from June 22 and classes will begin on June 29. The admission process would be closed by July 27, according to press note.

Entrance exam for new generation programmes: The university has called for applications for the entrance examinations for admission to the new generation programmes offered at the post-graduate level at the affiliated colleges.

These programmes are offered either under the aided stream or under self-financing stream.

The centralised rank list will be prepared on the basis of the entrance examination.

The last date for submitting applications is May 30.

The The PG programmes offered include BFT (for women only);

MSW; MSc programmes in bio-statistics, environmental science and management; bio-technology; microbiology; applied microbiology; bio-informatics; plant bio-technology; bio-chemistry; food science and technology; and food science and quality control. For details contact: 0481-2731013.

MBA admission: The group discussion and interview for admission to merit seats of the MBA course in affiliated colleges of the university will begin at the seminar complex on Wednesday, according to a statement received here.

Hall tickets can be downloaded from the university website www.universityofcalicut.info

Awareness classes: Babu Mathew P. Joseph, District Judge, Malappuram District Sessions Court, will inaugurate an awareness class on laws against ragging, being organised by the university Department of Social Welfare, at the seminar complex on Monday.

Calicut University Vice-Chancellor Anwar Jahan Zuberi will preside over the inaugural session of the awareness classes.

M. Padmanabhan, Superintendent of Police, Malappuram, will take the class, said a statement received here on Saturday.
