7,500 graduate teachers to be appointed soon

Tiruvannamalai: School Education Minister ThangamThennarasu has said that 7,500 graduate teachers will be appointed in a few days, .

He opened a new District Library Building built at the cost of Rs.56 lakh and participated in Library Revitalisation Conference of Tiruvannamalai, Vellore and Villupuram, here on Wednesday.

"Under the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam, several villages are getting library building. Before the culmination of this programme, TamilNadu will get the distinction of becoming the first State which could declare that all of its panchayats are equipped with a library, without exception. We have given sanction to public libraries in the State to purchase Tamil books to the tune of Rs.25 crore recently," Mr. Thennarasu said.

He also said that Rs.1 crore had been allotted to conduct special training classes to students of northern districts that stood backward in education.

Mr. Thennarasu promised to consider sanctioning another Rs.15 lakh for the construction of top floor at the newly-built District Library Building.
