The Rise of Digital Entertainment

The trend is obvious - consumers are using their portable devices for digital entertainment. They use portable digital cameras for taking photos and shooting videos. They use portable media players for watching movies, and they wear stylish hands free headsets for listening to digital music.

Most of these gadgets are small and light weight. They are convenient to bring along and provide hours and hours of entertainment. Other devices are not as small. They appear a little bulky, but are more powerful. As such, they can be used to run more resource intensive applications. Such gadgets include the UMPC (ultra mobile PC), the HPDC (hybrid portable dual computer), the netbook, and the laptop.

However, the problem with most of these gadgets is that they are mainly used for consuming content instead of creating content. For content creation, only a HPDC or a laptop can get the job done. The HPDC and laptops both use the Microsoft Windows OS. So it is easy to find compatible applications that run on these systems. For this reason, the laptop is mostly reserved for business use. In addition, most laptops are still not powerful enough to run sophisticated 3D games.

All that is about to change with Alienware gaming notebooks. These notebooks are powered by Intel's first quad core CPU (Core 2 Extreme QX9300). It supports up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM and boasts an enhanced sound system. As most 3D gaming applications require strong graphic processing capabilities, traditional laptops haven't been able to rise to the challenge. An Alienware gaming notebook offers support for multi-GPU technology. Multi-GPU means that multiple graphic processors are working at the same time to ensure that the displays run smoothly.

If you are not into gaming, perhaps you wouldn't be too interested in Alienware gaming notebooks. Perhaps you are interested in something else, like digital photography. Then a small but interesting gadget like the Flipbac angled viewfinder may catch your attention.

This is a small little gadget that you can attach to the LCD screen of a digital camera. When not in use, it acts as an LCD screen protector. When you want to take a digital picture, simply flip open the gadget, and it will reflect the display on the LCD screen. This allows the photographer to take interesting digital photos from many different perspectives. The photographer can also take pictures from the ground level (and up) without having to bend down. It is compatible with most point and shoot digital cameras, and will attach to a 3 inch LCD screen.

There are all types of gadgets to enhance the digital lifestyle of even the most hard to please enthusiast. Even a simple gadget like the Flipbac angled viewfinder can provide hours and hours of enjoyment. The best part is, it doesn't have to cost a bomb!

You may be surprised to read this but an Alienware gaming notebook with basic configurations costs less than $1,500! The rise of digital entertainment is surely penetrating deep into everyone's lives.
