Govt to examine the reasons for retrenchment in IT Park

The CPI-M led LDF government in Kerala on Saturday decided to initiate stringent steps by intervening on retrenchment of employees by certain IT companies in Techno Park.

State Labour Minister P K Gurudasan instructed the labour department officials to take stringent action after examining the issues connected with retrenchment of exmployees in Technopark here, an official press release said here today.

the Instructions come in the wake of reports that IT companies have resorted to large-scale lay offs of staff without any guidelines in the name of global recession.

The government would take action against this anti-labour move, the release said.
