292 Schools to be constructed soon

Salem: Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme, over 600 new classrooms to be constructed in 292 schools in Salem district at an estimated cost of Rs. 21.5 crore in the current fiscal.

The buildings would have all necessary facilities, including better ventilation, benefiting over 26,000 children in different parts of the district. The fund was handing over for the construction of classrooms to the heads of village education committee, said Collector N Mathivanan.
