Customers to get account details through telephone
Special alert facilities to remind the borrowers of repayment deadlines

MALAPPURAM: The Malappuram Service Cooperative Bank is set to introduce tele-banking facility for its customers.

The Former Minister for Industries, P.K. Kunhalikutty, will inaugurate the facility at a function to be held here on Saturday afternoon. M. Ummer, MLA, will inaugurate a new building of the bank's Munduparamba branch on the occasion.The bank has already provided 'any branch banking' (ABB) facility by linking its six branches. It was the first, Cooperative bank here to have automated teller machines (ATMs) over a year ago.

The customers can get the details of their accounts through telephone with the introduction of tele-banking facility. The bank's interactive voice response system (IVRS) can be reached at 0483-2736216 or 9746858000. The bank will also make available account details on mobile phones through short messaging system (SMS). Customers can SMS to 9746677444 for account and transaction details, said officials. They said the bank would introduce special alert facilities to remind the borrowers of the repayment deadlines. The bank has already introduced 12-hour work schedule for its Kottappadi branch.
