Students carry fire safety message to people

Dangers of fire: Fire safety awareness rally was taken out in Salem city on Thursday. —

SALEM: Students and members of various voluntary organisations joined the fire service personnel by taking out a rally here on Thursday to spread the message on safety while playing with fire.

The District Fire and Rescue Department in association with Lions Club of Salem Majestic took the rally which was flagged off by Collector N. Mathivanan from the Sevvapet Fire Station. The participants carried placards that contained various safety aspects while dealing with firecrackers. They also distributed pamphlets. Those who participated in the rally included Mayor J. Rekha Priyadarshini, Lions District Governor A.S. Arvinthraj and others.
