Soros Reproductive Health and Rights Fellowship

Soros Reproductive Health and Rights Fellowship was started in 2002 as a result of collaborative venture of Open Society Institute and Columbia University which aims towards the emancipation of women and protection of Human Rights. The program nurtured the creative prowess of the candidates and implementation of strategies from the pragmatic point of view.
Thrust of Soros Reproductive Health and Rights Fellowship:
The core issues that are included in the programme are- emancipation of women in America, creation of awareness about the reproductive health and hygiene, protection of the rights of women and children. The fellowship enables the scholars to be aware of the issues concerning women and empowering them in turn. The awareness on various subjects ranging from health, hygiene, and human rights of women are projected in the program. The women are often subjected to humiliation and exploitation in many parts of USA and the foundation is instrumental in working in specific spheres to provide empathy to the women and empower them by enhancing the ability to assert their own rights.
