1. Define social research. Describe the major steps in
social research.

2. Define hypothesis and discuss the need for
hypothesis in social research.

3. Describe various methods of sampling in social
research.

4. Bring out the differences between a questionnaire
and schedule and describe the different types of
questions that may go into a questionnaire and
schedule.

5. Analyse the characteristics of exploratory and
descriptive research designs.

6. Bring out the merits and demerits of both primary
and secondary sources of data.

7. Differentiate the merits and demerits of the uses
of Mean, Median and Mode.

8. What are the essential of a research report?
Discuss.

9. Discuss the significance of observation as a
method of data collection.

10. Write an essay on the functions of Theory in
sociological research.
