Here's another Chinese company that have taken the world IT market by storm, Lenovo. One of the two sharpest tech titans in Asia, Lenovo entered the world stage after it bought IBM's computer business in 2005, propelling it into the ranks of the top three computer makers in the world. Lenovo has made and sold servers in its home Chinese market for years, but is predominantly a PC manufacturer that grew its engineering and manufacturing capability significantly by acquiring the IBM PC business.

The company was exclusive computing infrastructure provider for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The solutions included laptop and desktop PCs and monitors; touch screens, servers, and desktop printers. The company's engineering team also handled entire system operations.

According to a report in The VAR Guy, a channel blog, Lenovo will use the Interop tradeshow in New York in mid-September to launch its first Linux and Windows servers targeted for the world market.

China's largest personal-computer maker by shipments said net in the three months ended June rose to $110.5 million from $66.8 million a year earlier. Revenue increased 10 per cent to $4.21 billion.
