Contact glue recommendations?

I am doing my 1st project using veneer. I use oak veneer without bubbles, which, by the way, is very, very nice. I have 1/2 veneer left, on the contact cement that I used, based on the solvent DAP weldwood, and, damn it, it stinks all over the house. In the past I used it outside on laminate flooring, and it was fine, but in winter it cannot be used in a closed house.

I would like to get some recommendations on a non-smelly type of contact cement that I could use inside and that would provide a strong adhesion to MDF. The veneer is a 22 mil thick paper coated with a barrier layer to prevent seepage and bubble formation.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Try a water-based contact cement.

To avoid the strong odor issue, you might want to try a water-based contact cement. They're generally less smelly and safer to use indoors. You can also check out https://www.meiboom.eu/contactlijm/contactlijm-kopen for some options that should work well with MDF.
