Stress on Higher Education 

Vice-Chancellor of Annamalai University M. Ramanathan presented a paper on "Access and expansion of higher education in India" at the Oxford Round Table conference held recently at Rhode's House, St. Annes College, Oxford.

According to a release, Mr. Ramanathan underscored the efforts to be taken in the next 10 years to increase the percentage of students opting for higher education from 10 per cent to 25 per cent in the country.

Thirty Vice-Chancellors and presidents drawn from various universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia, Canada, Austria, Georgia Republic and India attended the conference held from July 6 to 11.
