Why is NAAC Accreditation Important for a University?

National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC) that assures 'quality' as the defining element of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India. NAAC functions through its council comprising of influential educational administrators, policy makers and senior academicians from a cross-section of the Indian higher education system.

It conducts assessment and accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions such as colleges, universities or other recognised institutions in terms of their performance related to the educational process and outcomes, curriculum, faculty, teaching-learning process, research undertaken, governance, new initiatives, and student services. On fulfilling the set parameters, NAAC scores the HEI on a 4 point scale that further denotes grade, and places them amongst the elite and prestigious Higher Educational Institutions of India.

Chandigarh University (CU) scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.28 on 4 point scale and became the first university in the state to be evaluated by the NAAC as per the revised scheme, which has made the entire process of accreditation even more stringent and challenging. How to Apply

Applications for CUCET will be accepted by online and offline mode. CUCET exam will be conducted online only.

Visit CUCET website- http://cucet.cuchd.in for registration.
Register on CUCET registration page and create your profile.
After successful registration, confirmation message is sent through SMS/E-mail.
Once registered, pay registration fee of Rs.1000/- which includes the digital copy of the prospectus.
Choose CUCET exam date and centre from the available options.
Appear in CUCET examination on the scheduled date and time at the allotted centre.
Result will be intimated through E-mail and will also be displayed on website.
If qualified in CUCET, one needs to pay 30% of the total fee within 15 days of result declaration to avail the scholarship benefits.
