Hydrogen car dreamers and those who dream of a gasless world, wake up. Your own hydrogen supercar is here.

The just unveiled Ronn Motors Scorpion is a supercar that offers 0 to 60 mph times of in 3.5 seconds. And you get 40 MPG.

And as you can in the photo gallery on this page, the Scorpion is a looker too.

The Ronn Motors Scorpion hydrogen supercar manages this feat using the Hydrorunner G3 - it is an onboard water and electrolysis unit that produces hydrogen-on-demand. The Scorpion will offer fuel efficiency figures of 27 MPG even without the Hydrorunner G3. But the addition of the hydrogen production unit changes the entire game. What you end up with is fuel figures better than most econo-miser cars

There is a bit of worry though. Ronn Motors says that their engineering team 'expects' 40 MPG. Which means they have not really tested it out with the Hydrorunner G3. Or are we missing something here?

The expected launch of the Ronn Motors Scorpion will be end 2008.

According to the Hydrogen Cars Now blog which talked to the Vice President of Ronn Motors,
Check Engine, the manufacturers of the HHO unit in the Scorpion, say that the electrolysis unit can use any kind of water for producing hydrogen.

The skeptics will believe all this when they finally see the car in metal. Remeber the big noise around the Tesla Electric Roadster last year? They proved they could produce an all electric sportscar, but the real buzz happened after saw it rolling. The same would apply to the Scorpion.

For the sake of those who are dead frustrated by the internal combustion world and the ridiculous gas price scenario, we wish the Scorpion is the first in a long line of cars which use hydrogen to increase their fuel efficiency - and who knows, one day run entirely on hydrogen.
