Selection Process

The admission process starts in the month of May, or as soon as the results of Plus 2 is announced. The application forms will be issued to the applicants from the date of publication of the results of the qualifying examinations. The issue of forms usually lasts for 10 days unless otherwise notified or specially permitted by the University. In case the tenth day happens to be public holiday the issue of forms will be closed on the next working day.
The rank list is published on the fifth day after the last day of receipt of applications. The admissions are carried out before the tenth day of the publication of the rank list.

MERIT LIST
The Rank Mark is arrived at in the following way.

Index Marks
The marks obtained for each subject is to be converted as the case may be and index mark is to be arrived accordingly (Total 500) for BBA and 600 for BCOM.

Handicap Marks
A Handicap of 5 marks for every successive attempt after the first attempt subject to a maximum of 20 marks out of the Index marks will be imposed on those who have taken two or more chances to complete the qualifying examination.
The number of chances means the number of chances taken for passing any part of the qualifying examination after the prescribed course period.
No handicap marks for 'SAY' pass outs be imposed if admitted in the same academic year.

Bonus Marks
Ten marks to applicants who have passed the qualifying examination after undergoing the whole prescribed course of study in the same institution in which they seek admission to PG courses.
Bonus of 15 marks for Degree shall be awarded for NCC and NSS candidates for admission to all courses.
An additional Bonus mark of 3 will be given to 'A' Certificate holders, 5 to 'B' and 'C' certificate holders.
Bonus of 15 marks shall be added to the Ex-servicemen and widows and children of jawans and ex-servicemen.
The benefit of Bonus marks can be scored by a candidate only under one category i.e., either NSS or NCC.
Bonus marks cannot be used to decide minimum eligibility.

Weightage Marks
Students applying for BCom course would get a weightage of 25 marks in each of the three subjects of commerce combination, as explained in the eligibility criteria, subject to a maximum of 75 marks

R. B. Chowdary has roped in his elder son Jithan Ramesh for his next production. Titled 'Pillaiyar Theru Kadaisi Veedu', Ramesh has been cast opposite to Kannada actress, Sanchita Padukone. This is the pretty lady who is also sharing space with other actresses in Vijay's forthcoming movie, 'Vettaikkaran'.

'Pillaiyar Theru Kadaisi Veedu' is produced by R. B. Chowdary whereas the direction and script is by Thirumalai Kishore. With this movie, Chakri is making his debut as a Music composer in Tamil industry, after being well-known in Tollywood. While Na Muthukumar handles the songs, 'Dhinathorum' Nagarajan has penned the dialogues. This masala movie will soon go on floors next month in Dindigul.

Besides this, R. B. Chowdary has 'Kacheri Aarambam' in his production line. This movie will have his second son in the lead role.

Malayalee born, Arya, is finally giving a shot for his hometown. The 'Naan Kaduval' hero is stepping into the Kerala screen for the first time. And he will share the screen with none other than the Kerala hottie, Nayantara.

Her cameo appearance in 'Twenty 20' was a gesture to show that she has not forgotten her native roots. Nayantara gave the Mallywood audience a refreshing change with her comeback in 'Bodyguard' with Dileep.

Arya and Nayantara - now with such hot pairing the movie is sure to scorch the Mollywood. 

His 'Anjathey' made people to sit up and take notice. Director Mysskin gave Prasanna first time a negative character with this movie. Now, recently the filmmaker has been lauded by Ullaganayagan! According to sources, Kamal Haasan, who is said to be a voracious movie-watcher at home, recently had watched Mysskin's movies like 'Anjathey' and 'Nandalala'. And the actor is highly impressed with the director. So much that he has decided to choose him as the director for his next movie under Rajkamal International, Kamal's home production.

Mysskin revealed, "We met and discussed working together for a future project. But nothing has been firmed up about the script or the production work."

Now this looks quite interesting. Hope both great minds come up with something distinct! 

They created a magic with 'Chennai-28' and later 'Saroja'. Now people are expecting more from their next movie, 'Goa'. The movie is back with the adorable star team comprising of Jai, Vaibhav, Premji Amaran and Aravind Akash. As the title denotes the movie is mostly shot in that exotic place and it revolves around a real life story that took place in Goa.

The movie captures the scenic locales of this India's smallest state. Who can forget its beautiful sun kissed beaches and attractive shacks? Well, all was not rosy and fine for this movie team in this paradise. First, they were troubled by the excited onlookers there. And later, the rain played a spoil sport on them. Dejected with such obstacles, director Venkat Prabhu decided to shift their base to Malaysia. The entire crew traveled to Malaysia to continue the remaining shooting. But that was not the end of the woes. The movie had to bring Goa to Malaysia. For that they had to recreate a whole lot of Goan shacks on the Malay shores! And it had cost around 25 lakhs! So much for getting the right feel!

Suriya's younger sibling might be following his foot steps in acting skills, but Karthi is taking his time to come up with new projects. After 'Paruthiveeran', people are waiting for the actor to give another striking success. Audience are counting days for his 'Aayirathil Oruvan' to hit the screens. Meanwhile, his movie, 'Paiya' opposite Tamannah is making news too.

Karthi is said to be doing a remake of Telugu movie 'Vikramarkudu' with director Kathir of 'Thenavattu' fame. Titled 'Siruthai', the movie will be produced by Gnanavel under Studio Green banner. 'Arundhathee' fame Anushka will play Karthi's leading lady. Interestingly, one can see the impressive hero in double role in this movie!

Besides, 'Siruthai', Karthi will also work with director Susindhran who made 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu'.

Now, with these, Karthi seems to have his hands full!

After 'Bhavani', Sneha is hoped to be back in her typical sweet looking image with her next project, titled 'Yatra'. The movie is said to be directed by R. R. Vijay, who had worked with filmmakers like Subramaniam Siva and Ameer. 'Yatra' mainly revolves around the leading lady. Hmm, looks like another meaty role for Sneha after 'Bhavani'.

As a matter of fact, did you know the title of the movie is someone's name? Well, Yatra is also the name of actor Dhanush and Aishwarya's son.

Actress Bhoomika and Prabhudeva are currently working hard on their weight, despite being lanky in their own right! Wonder why? This is for their film 'Kalavadiya Pozhudhugal', in which they are playing the lead pair. The film is said to have a flashback tat involves the duo, for which the film's director Thangar Bachan has asked the duo to lose weight.

The two, however, are not a pair in the film, as Prabhudeva's wife in the movie is Inbanila, the actress who played Parvathy's friend in 'Poo'. And Bhoomika's husband is actor Prakash Raj, who is said to be playing a very prominent role in the movie.

The film is produced by Ayngaran, and is said to be a story of love kindled between ex lovers, after an accidental meeting.

One of the best known hit pairs between a director and comedian, will soon be back on screen! The person we're talking about is director-actor SUndar C and actor Vadivelu, who have helped each other's career through their films like Winner, Rendu, Giri and London.

And then, a reported fall out happened between the two. The fallout between the duo fed gossip mills for long.

It was only after this that Vivek joined Sundar C in almost all films, like Sandai, Ayudham Seivom and Veerappu.

But now, the duo of Sundar C and Vadivelu are getting together with Shakthi Chidambaram's Guru Sishyan. Speaking about it is director-actor Sundar C. "We didn't have a problem like everybody suspected, but decided against working together. Now, after three years, we are back in Guru Sishyan with Sathyaraj."

Ajith has dabbled with femininity, has grown himself a stubble, and constantly reinvents his look for every film. But the grouse among Vijay fans that he hardly experiments with his look, has finally had its effect on the Ilaya Thalapathi.

Actor Vijay, perhaps owing to his stereotypical roles in movies, hardly changes his look, apart from constantly shedding weight. The actor tried a different bearded look for Vaseegara, which changed with Thirumalai, in which he got clean shaven. But after that, there hardly have been changes in the actor's look.

This has been a problem with his fans who have spoken to the actor about it openly. And so, sources close to the actor reveal Vijay has decided to change his look for his 51st movie. The actor, reportedly, had a photo shoot recently, in which he took profiles of him in different looks and hairdos. He self examined them later, and had then shortlisted a few that he thought he looked in. So, the actor's next step, it is said, will be showing them to his director of the 51st film, Jayam Raja being the most probable name, and making him to work on a character that will suit his look.
