Global Institute of Intellectual Property (GIIP), a pioneer educational institute in the field of Patent & Intellectual Property Services, has announced admissions open for its Diploma and Certificate courses. These courses are available at the GIIP centers in Delhi and Bangalore and are designed specifically for graduates, post-graduates and PhDs in legal and technical domains who wish to build a career in the booming Intellectual Property (IP) industry.

The 9-month Full Time PG Diploma Course, which is offered in collaboration with Center for Advanced Studies and Research on Intellectual Property (CASRIP), University of Washington (USA), is meant for technical professionals aspiring for a lucrative career in Patent and IP Related services. On the other hand, the 3-month Full Time PG Certification Course caters primarily to legal and management professionals and offers up-to-date education in Indian, European and US IP laws. The total number of seats available in each course is 60 and admissions close on April 30, 2010. Forms are available on GIIP website and each application is carefully evaluated by the GIIP Selection Committee for assessing eligibility of the applicant.

As per GIIP's CEO Atulya Nath, "As India is heading towards becoming a knowledge economy and a pioneer in outsourcing services, IP has started playing a significant role in the growth strategy of inventors and major industries. Thus, a myriad of career opportunities are opening up in the IP sector; particularly for science, engineering and law graduates. Through our various programs, we are trying to meet this growing demand for professionals who would have comprehensive knowledge in the business, technical and legal aspects of IP, international patents and procedures."

Apart from the Full Time courses, GIIP also offers a 1-year Part Time Post Graduate Certificate Program, in collaboration with National Law University Delhi, which is tailored to meet the needs of working professionals and corporate executives. This program is divided into two segments, namely Core Track and Technical Track. While the former offers basic in-depth understanding on different forms of IP, the latter is meant for professionals with sufficient knowledge and work experience in the Indian, European and US patent laws and procedures. 75 seats are available for this program as well and the last date for admissions is June 21, 2010.

"We are currently offering 2 industry sponsored and 3 trustee sponsored scholarships to meritorious students enrolling for the Full Time programs. These scholarships have been instituted by reputed law firms, KPOs and LPOs as well as corporate houses to support our pioneering endeavor to give to the industry a team of professionals that can meet the growing demand of patent and related services." said Mr. Nath.
