CAT online glitch: Prometric clarifies

CAT 2009 was a landmark event. The exam moved from the pen and paper route to a computer based test. But the first four days saw chaos with technical glitches and cancellation of tests for up to 7000 students.

Several students protested the alleged mishandling by the testing agency Prometric. But now, after the storm has subsided, the MD of Prometric clarifies on what exactly went wrong.

"The problems really arose in the first three days of testing. As you know it was related to certain viruses which attacked some of the computer systems, " said MD, Prometric Soumitra Roy.
