CHENNAI: More than 1,000 patients were screened in a free health camp held  at Cheyyar near Kancheepuram. Investigations such as ultrasound scan and eye screening for cataract was carried out on them. Around 90 spectacles are to be distributed next week, according to a press release issued by R. Chandrasekaran, former professor from Madras Medical College and trustee of the Sivaranga charities, which along with the Jayalakshmi Ranganathan Trust conducted the camp. Around 30 senior consultants of different specialities from the city took part. A review clinic will take place in Cheyyar on February 28, the release adds.
