Examination held to select block resource teacher educators

KRISHNAGIRI: As many as 9,671 candidates appeared for the written test for the position of 'block resource teacher educator' in Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts on Sunday.
The test was conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board. M. Baskaran, Chief Education Officer, Krishnagiri told The Hindu that the examination was conducted in eight centres in the district and 3,874 candidates appeared for the examination.
A total of 4,025 candidates had applied for the position of Block Resource Teacher Educator.
The following is the subject-wise break-up of the number of applicants: Tamil (710) , English (323), Mathematics (973), Physics (427), Chemistry (398), Botany (273), Zoology (323), History (437) and Geography (10).
In Dharmapuri, the written examination was conducted in eleven centres.
A total of 5,981 candidates applied for the position, out of whom 5,797 appeared for the examination, said S. Suganya, Chief Education Officer, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan.
Candidates took the examination for different subjects: Tamil (1,179), English (325), Mathematics (1,097), Physics (684), Chemistry (782), Botany (499), Zoology (592), History (598) and Geography (41).
The written examination was conducted under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan in all the 32 district headquarters on Sunday. A total of 1,32,987 candidates in the State were provided hall tickets by the Teachers Recruitment Board.
