Students on German visa through Seminar

The Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum is, on November 17, organising a seminar  on visa formalities for Germany and the Schengen States in Europe, for the students in Kerala.

Stefan Kowitz, head of Visa section at the German Consulate, Chennai, will chair the seminar and interact with the students.

The Schengen Agreement was signed in 1985 in the village of Schengen, on the borders of Luxembourg, France and Germany. It established common immigration procedures among the signatories to the treaty. While it is not related to the European Union, many of the Schengen countries are also EU members. There are now 16 Schengen countries who have chosen to 'harmonize' their immigration policies.

The seminar, which begins at 9 a.m., will help students seeking higher studies in Germany and other European Countries to get authentic information about visa procedures.
