Ranking of Indian Universities for their research output and quality using a new performance index.

This is the title of a commentary posted in the journal named "Current Science".
The paper has listed the top 25 universities based on different index keeping the number of publications, and the impact factor of publications in which the papers are published as their main criteria.

Of the top 25 universities, 4 universities from Tamil Nadu are listed.
The list tops with university of Hyderabad.

When the Universities from Tamil Nadu are considered,

University of Madras at 6th place

Anna University at 10th place

Annamalai University at 11th place

CMC,Vellore at 14th place

Madurai Kamaraj University at 18th place
