Yahoo! has disclosed the fact that, it will no more provide any access to Xoopit for Gmail service and Xoopit Web service. Xoopit was responsible for aggregating media files from users' Gmail accounts.

Earlier, Xoopit was acquired by Yahoo!  to provide plug-in support to both Gmail and Yahoo!Mail for their My Photos features.

According to Yahoo!, "Xoopit teamed up with Yahoo! in July 2009. We are excited to be making the world's best e-mail platform a fantastic place to see and share photos, and decided that the best way to make that happen is to focus on our effort on Yahoo! Mail. We're sad to say goodbye to our users on Gmail but we know that we will not be able to keep investing in our Xoopit for Gmail product, and don't want you to end up with a lousy experience."

As per the sources, the service won't provide Gmail customer's data after 13 November 2009 and Xoopit will no longer access customer's data after 11 February 2010. It is also discontinuing other services like Firefox add-on and Facebook integration for Gmail.
