Training to improve productivity

YERCAUD: Salem Corporation has launched a human resource development programme to increase overall productivity and the job performance of its staff members.

Mayor J. Rekha Priyadarshini inaugurated the first phase of the programme here on Saturday.

The training would be conducted during weekends.

Every batch would be attending the training for three weeks.

A team of human resource trainers led by H.R. Gopinath would conduct the training.

Apart from the lecture sessions, demonstrations and exercises would also be conducted during the programme.
Funds

Ms. Rekha Priyadarshini said that the civic body had allotted funds for the conduct of the programme in 2009-2010 budget.

It was planned to provide the training to 500 civic officials in the current fiscal.

All the employees would be given the opportunity to attend the training in the coming years.

The initiative would help the Corporation to improve the delivery of services to the people.

Officials would be able to respond to public requests quickly and effectively.

The Mayor asked the civic officials to utilise the opportunity to improve skills and ensure effectiveness in administration.

Corporation Commissioner K.S. Palanisamy presided. Senior officials were present.
