'Raid-de-Himalaya' Begins On Oct 5

The 11th edition of one of the world's toughest motor rally - 'Raid-de-Himalaya' will commence from 5th of October. The motor rally will see around 200 participants traversing the mighty Himalayas.

The official statement made on Tuesday informed that the eight-day rally would be flagged off from Himachal Pradesh capital on October 5.

The 3,000-km rally would pass through Manali, Kaza, Patseo, Leh, Kargil and finally end in Leh in Jammu and Kashmir. The rally includes the cold deserts of Lahaul and Spiti and Ladakh districts.

The rally is being conducted by the Himalayan Motorsport Association. It is a member of the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of India. The association has been organising this motor rally since 1999.

The rally features on the international off-road rallies calendar of the Federation of International Motorsport, Geneva.

The 10th edition of 'Raid-de-Himalaya' was won by Suresh Rana and Ashish Moudgil   in the car and bike categories respectively.
