CAPE to launch finishing school

Thiruvananthapuram: The Cooperative Department will soon launch a finishing school under the auspices of the Cooperative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE) to make those passing out of colleges and professionals institutes employable.

Addressing a press conference here, Cooperation Minister G. The cost of setting up the finishing school is around Rs.2 crore. Basic infrastructure, including air-conditioned halls, digital library and language lab, have already been built at a cost of Rs.25 lakh.

The project is materialising at a time when CAPE is celebrating its 10th anniversary, he said.
Seats and fee

The Minister said that in there would be 30 seats in the first batch. The PGCCA course is targeted at graduates and postgraduates of any discipline and fresh recruits who want to improve soft skills.

The course fee is Rs.30,000 with a Rs.5,000 subsidy for students who have studied in CAPE institutions or those who are employed there. The services of leading personalities from the corporate world would be utilised as faculty members. The institute will bear the expenses for bringing them to conduct classes, he said.
