It is common knowledge that just dressing properly for an interview won't get you the job. What some candidates tend to forget is the fact that first impressions are still crucial. A properly dressed candidate will make a strong positive first impression and will also have an advantage in comparison with other candidates who did not pay a lot of attention to the outfit issue. After all, when you are going to a job interview you are actually marketing a product, you are marketing yourself. When you are going shopping doesn't the product with the most attractive layer attract you the most? As you see, it's all about first impressions. The manner in which you present yourself sets the tone of the interview. Even though people should not be judged by what they wear, in reality, job interviews have some dress code standards that cannot be omitted.

As in any other situation regarding interview tips, knowing how to dress requires preparation. You should do a little research about the company, in order for your image to fit the one of the company. Not dressing in accordance with the company might create the interviewer the impression of indifference. The simplest ways to get the information that you need is simply calling the Human Resources office of the company and asking or visiting the company in order to do a little field work. Even though in most of the cases the candidates underdress, there are occasions when they overdress, hence you need to pay some attention to these details.

All of these advice do not suggest that you should spend a fortune on clothes for interviews. It depends on each one's financial condition. For the beginning, it would be best to have two professional sets of attire. If you get the job, and the financial condition is a favorable one, you can enlarge your wardrobe to more than two suits.
Besides respecting the job interview code and taking into account the above mentionings, in order to be at your best during the interview take a look at the following vital dress for success tips for both men and women:
1. your hairstyle should be well-groomed;
2. you should not exaggerate with the perfume or the cologne; a minimal scent is sufficient;
3. avoid body odor;
4. make sure you have a fresh breath and well-brushed teeth;
5. your fingernails must be trimmed and cleaned;
6. avoid chewing gum or eating;
7. you should have minimal jewelry;
8. you should not have visible body piercing; women can, of course, have ear piercings;
9. make sure that before the interview you have polished your conservative shoes;

After all of these are done, go to the mirror and do a final check of your attire. Do not leave out things such as combing your hair or straightening your tie just because they are details. Details might be the small impulses that make the interviewer give you the job.
