Sony launches wire-free Walkman series

Bangalore: Sony has introduced a new wireless music player. The Walkman W series from Sony is designed for those who prefer only a headphone for music player and also for those who look for trendy design. The portable W series player is compact and lightweight (35g) with a design that fits behind the head, so users can enjoy music without getting tangled in wires.



There is no display option to this music player instead it has a ZAPPIN function that allows the user to browse, search and listen. This music player is made keeping in mind people, who like to listen to music while working out in Gym. With the help of the Jog Dial operation on the earpiece, users can play a four or 15 second snippet of each song in the music library one after the other until a favorite song is found.

Its battery supports up to 12 hours of music playback. It also has a quick charge feature that allows users to play back up to 90 minutes of music with only a three minute charge. It is available in five colors - black, white, pink, violet,lime and has 2GB internal storage. In addition, the 'Content Transfer' software supplied with the W series Walkman allows you to easily transfer non-DRM music files from online music services, such as iTunes, to the Walkman by simply 'dragging and dropping' files. The W series also comes with a USB cradle to dock and charge the player and is available at a price of Rs.4,990.
