Bangalore: Panasonic India has launched a DVD home theater sound system, SC-PT470, capable of sound reproduction through 1000 Watts (750RMS). The system also has HDMI connection & HD 1920 X 1080P conversion, through which audio and video are transmitted without deterioration for high quality reproduction. The system also has an iPod dock, through which the user can listen to all the music stored in the iPod or MP3 player.

The Whisper ModeSurround feature of the system compensates for the sound pressure level of the low-frequency component (which contains the signals that affect the surround effect), providing surround sound even when watching movies at low volume. Dolby and DTS Decoders in the unit provide 5.1 Channel Output with Digital Amplification Technology, provides complete surround sound experience which comes through five speakers and separate sub woofer. Use of rigid, low-density bamboo in the woofer and tweeter cones of the center and front speakers helps to achieve responsive sound. Magnetic shielding in speakers minimizes the interference of the speakers with other home theater electrical equipment, making set-up much easier and reducing limitations on the placement of speakers for the system.

The home theatre system also features a Digital Audio Input Optical terminal for connection to other compatible devices for providing digital sound. The system provides the convenience of multi-format playback, supporting formats like DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, VCD, CD, CD-R/RW, WMA, MP3, and JPEG. Boasting of low power consumption for standby (0.2W)/Active Mode, the home theatre system has Karaoke function as well.

The home theatre system is available at Rs.17,990.
