Another frequent problem with using databases on a web server is not having the correct ODBC Microsoft Access Driver installed.

To check what version of the ODBC Microsoft Access Driver you have installed on your system then follow the steps below: -

First you need to open the 'ODBC Data Source Administrator' you will find it under 'Control Panel', 'Administration Tools' and it will be called 'Data Sources ODBC'. If you can't find it on your system then you don't have any ODBC drivers installed.

Once you open the ODBC Data Source Administrator select the 'Drivers' tab . You should now see a list of ODBC drivers installed on your computer.

Look down the list for 'Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)'.

Next to the 'Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)' there will be a version number. Check that this version number is 4 or above.

If you do not have these drivers or the version number is below version 4 you may find the latest drivers: -
Shipped with the latest Microsoft Office distribution.
Shipped with the latest Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) distribution.
