College silver jubilee meet

CHENNAI: A three-day international conference on "Transcending the feminine mystique – perspectives" will begin on Wednesday at Anna Adarsh College for Women here. The conference is part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the college.

The meet will seek to demystify the assumptions, myths, roles, demands and stereotypes associated with the lives of women. Well known artists and political personalities will address the conference that will feature both international and national delegates.

The special guests include Union Minister of State D.Napolean, State Minister for Information Technology Poongothai Aladi Aruna, Member of Parliament Jayanthi Natarajan, danseuse Anita Ratnam, educationist Madhuvanti Arun and Poet Tamilachi Thangapandian.

The conference has received as many as 105 papers which will be published in the manual to be released. It will have participation from academicians, representatives of non-governmental organisations, research scholars, policy makers, entrepreneurs, activists and artists.
