Varsity offers courses with industry tie-up

VIJAYAWADA: Krishna University Vice-Chancellor M.K. Durga Prasad on Thursday said that the university had introduced a novel industry-collaborated course in M.Sc Electronics and Instrumentation with classes to be offered at the city-based Efftronics Systems Private Limited.

Addressing a press conference here, Prof. Durga Prasad said this was the first time in the State that a university was offering a collaborative course under the industry linkage programme with students taking classes right on the premises of the industry, which would give ample opportunities for direct exposure to the working atmosphere. Eight students had already joined the course for the academic year 2009-10, as against the overall intake of 15.

Prof. Durga Prasad said that the university had introduced two more courses – M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and M. Pharmacy. . Classes for these courses will be held on the Krishna University temporary campus in Machilipatnam. Efftronics CEO D. Ramakrishna said that the industry-linkage programmes would help create many opportunities for the students.
